Superbike School

Recognized as the foremost motorcycle school in the world, the California Superbike School began in 1980 with the goal of becoming the most comprehensive professional school for the motorcycle enthusiast. In the two decades since its inception, CSS has taught 100,000 street riders and 15 U.S. Superbike Champions. Today CSS is found on four continents, offering full rider training for riders of full dresser Harleys and Cruisers to GP and Sportbikes.

Superbike Schools offer a stepped training program comprised of 4 separate levels. Each is taught by trained, professional riding coaches to insure the student gains improved understanding and greater confidence.

  • Level I is a full briefing on the six most common riding errors and why the rider may make them. Through on-track exercises the rider learns to correct and control such observable errors as: corner entry speeds, rider generated instability, intermittent traction, sloppy turn entry positioning, imprecise steering and poor bike/rider interface, all of which are leading factors in jeopardizing rider safety and enjoyment.
  • Level II integrates the fundamental exercises from Level 1 by training students to process visual information rapidly. Via on-track training, students learn target fixation, corner familiarization, corner definition and organizing space to suit the corner.
  • Level III addresses proactive and technical points on riding. From body positioning choices that affect the cornering process, to proper interface with the bike, Level 3 dramatically improves the student’s control over the bike.
  • Level IV takes a focused assessment of the student’s skills. Nearly 15 different riding tactics have been previously explored, but at this juncture the Riding Coach designs a unique program for each student.

CSS riding coaches are the only trained, professional riding coaches in the world. Before an Riding Coach can lead a student, they must gain certification by completing intense training courses of their own. The lofty requirements held by CSS is another reason CSS is recognized as the Harvard of Superbike Schools.

Keith Code, Director of CSS, has been a pioneer in the field of motorcycle training for a quarter of a century. His schools continue to grow in popularity with planned franchise expansion in Southeast Asia and Europe.
